Lets Get Started

1. Make it a month of “No Heat Month”

Have you heard of no-shave September, make it a no heat tools month for your hair. And trust me your hair will thank you for that. This means consciously decide not to use any heat or styling tools on your hair for a month and see what difference it makes for your hair.

  • Dry your hair naturally using old cotton t-shirt.

  • After your hair wash, sit below the sun to naturally dry your hair.

  • During your bad hair day, choose hairstyles like bun or plaits instead of reaching out for tools.

  • Say no to the blow dryer.

By not choosing heating tools, you are giving your hair time to breathe and repair itself from all the damage.

2. We are on a break

Break up with coloring your hair. Go without coloring your hair for a few months. Hair coloring damages the root of your hair, it damages the cuticles and takes away all the hair moisture leaving it dry and unhealthy.

  • Embrace your natural hair color.

  • Say no to hair color and bleaching.

  • Avoid color treatments like hair dyes and bleach.

Give your hair some space to breathe. You will definitely see how healthy your hair feels.

3. Add these foods to your meal plan

Good food is the way to good hair, frizz-free hair. Yes, not just to someone's heart, but also good hair. And to begin with, making a few changes in your diet & lifestyle will definitely show you those positive changes in your hair that you always dreamed of.

Read on to find out a list of nutritious superfoods to add to your diet.

  • Walnuts are loaded with Omega 3 which helps protect the DNA of your hair.

  • Berries, strawberries, cranberries are loaded with antioxidants that help fight the frizz hair from the roots. Eating one portion of this every day can bring back the lost shine of your hair.

  • Avocado, sweet potatoes, are not only good snack options but also loaded with Vitamin A, E, D to help maintain the hair oils.

  • Adding citrus fruits to your diet source of Vitamin C, which keeps the hair healthy and shiny.

  • Protein & healthy fats are what your hair needs to fight dryness. Add meat, salmon, to your diet a few times a week and see your hair shine.

  • Leafy vegetables every day like spinach, etc. give the hair iron, which is essential for healthy growth.

  • You can find zinc in foods like pumpkin seeds, lentils, sesame seeds, lamb, chickpeas, and oysters. These are important for hair growth and help build keratin - your protein for hair.

  • Also, adding eggs to your diet can boost your dose of biotin which helps maintain the hair keratin.

Every day having the right amount of nutrients will give your hair the required amount of nutrients that will help maintain, build & nourish your hair. Eating good food will not only give you shiny lustrous hair but also make it stronger and healthier.

So do your everyday meals contain the required amount of “hair nutrient foods”?

4. Rekindle with your old love - love for champi

Stock on your oil shelf - coconut, almond, olive, etc. The option is endless. Choose your favorite oil, if you wish to, you can mix 2 oils together too, the more the better. Prioritize your hair care routine and indulge in some pampering & self-care.

  • Heat oil and apply it to your scalp and cover it with cloth dipped in hot water.

  • Give your head & hair a nice long massage. Do this twice a week.

  • Want to upgrade the feel? Add essential oils like lavender, tea tree, etc. to your champi oil.

Not only will this relax your mind but also boost blood circulation, which in turn boosts hair growth. This also works on the dullness of your air.

5. Add consciously to your hair product list

No, hair serums, leave-in conditioners, aren't bad. But the only effort you have to put in here is to choose the products well. I know it's tough to not give in to temptations when you see ads for hair serum. But hold on, the only homework you need to do before the purchase is to check the ingredients.

  • Apply serum to hair after it's 80 percent dry.

  • Avoid products having ingredients like sodium lauryl sulfate.

  • Choose ingredients like glycerin as it hydrates your hair inside out.

  • Shift to sulfate-free shampoos & conditioners.

Inculcating these habits into your daily hair routine will help maintain your hair health and work on improving the damaged hair. And also help smooth the cuticle & prevent frizz.

6. Are you washing your hair the right way?

The most simple thing to do, that most of us most of the time don't do is to

wash hair the right way.

  • Avoid over-shampooing your hair.

  • Remember to choose shampoos having less than a 5.5 pH level.

  • If your hair is oily, go for a second round or else 1 round is enough.

  • Shampoo your hair twice weekly, for example, Saturday and Tuesday of every week.

  • Use cold to mild-warm water to rinse hair.

  • Avoid washing your hair with extremely hot water.

  • Always remember to condition your hair after the shampoo.

Washing the right way will make sure your hair is not ripped off its natural oils and helps lock in moisture and provide shine & protection.

7. Did you comb your hair today?

This sounds like a simple task, right? But most of us skip on this, especially when we are at home or run late. But remember combing your hair in the right way with the right tool is part of your basics.

  • Every day brush your hair with a wide-toothed comb.

  • Avoid using brittle brushes.

  • Comb twice daily, once in the morning, and once before you sleep.

  • Detangle your hair before you shampoo.

Simple little things but make a huge difference. This will prevent hair breakage & make your hair look less frizzy.

8. Book that salon appointment

You know when you are exhausted after months of continuous work and you need a short vacation and the feeling you get after you get one? The same feeling your hair gets when you give it a salon visit.

  • Once a month get yourself a deep spa session at the salon.

  • Try out the Nashi Aragon Oil hair spa

  • Opt for spas like nourishing deep conditioning hair spas containing Vitamin E.

It gets the love it deserves from those hair spas and deep masking sessions. These hair treatments can be found in almost all salons, the name may differ, but the main agenda is to lock in moisture in the hair and work on the dryness.

9. Your Lifestyle = hair health

Just making a few changes in your daily habits & activities can prove to be so helpful for your hair. It takes just some conscious shifts & some changes in your daily activity & lifestyle to make your hair healthy. Another important factor is stress. Stress does affect your hair health and hampers hair growth. Also, external factors like heat, pollution, etc. also play an important role in hair health.

  • Lead a stress-free life.

  • Choose to do Yoga & meditation.

  • Every night before you sleep just massage your head for 5 minutes.

  • Avoid sleeping on a rough plus absorbent cotton pillowcase.

  • Switch your cotton pillowcase with a silk pillowcase.

  • Do not rub your hair when it's wet and weakened.

  • Improve your water drinking habit. Have at least 10 glasses of water throughout the day.

  • Shift to a microfiber towel (or an old cotton t-shirt) to wrap your wet hair.

  • Cover your hair with a scarf or caps while out in the sun.

All these small changes help in building hair strength and to improve hair health. And once this is in control, the frizz hair automatically starts to improve.

10. Your dose of DIY

Spas, products, etc. are all good. But nothing can beat a good DIY, and everything you need for that is just a few steps away from you - in your kitchen. Yes, this is this simple. Once a while make a homemade pack for yourself. Take a break from your hectic routine. Dedicating a few minutes to your hair care every day can give fabulous results in just a few days.

  • Apply a mixture of raw egg mixed with almond oil, leave for about 30 minutes and then wash off - tackles dryness.

  • Mix a raw banana with some honey, apply and leave it for 30 minutes and then wash off - smoothens hair.

  • Avocado with any oil applied on hair for 25 minutes is a good option to make your hair silky, smooth & shiny.

  • Aloe Vera is everyone's favorite, works on almost all hair issues. Apply it for a while and watch the frizz disappear.

  • Our old-school yogurt is easily available & works wonders to fight frizz and make hair strong & beautiful.

Just like that one shoe that fits all sizes, DIYs are the best solution for all your hair problems. Not only are these simple but affordable, easily available and conveniently done.
