Real Salon Nayana work
There is more than one way to feel different.
Keep the length. Change the shape. Add light. Bring back depth. Work with the curl. The right size of change is the one that still feels like you.

Every photograph above is Salon Nayana work.
Say the worrying part out loud
The fear is not silly. It is useful information.
A good consultation is not designed to talk you into the biggest change. It is designed to discover what would make the change feel wrong—and plan around it.
“What if they cut off more than I asked?”
We agree on the shortest point before we begin, then plan the shape around the length you want to keep. If your ends need more removed than expected, we show you first.
“What if the colour turns orange?”
Dark Indian hair naturally reveals red, orange and gold as it lifts. We check your starting depth and old colour before deciding how light to go and how that warmth should be controlled.
“What if bleach damages my hair?”
We ask about home colour, bleach, straightening, keratin and botox—not only what was done recently. If the hair cannot support the reference safely, we recommend a smaller change or repair first.
“What if it only looks good after a salon blow-dry?”
Tell us how you actually wear it: air-dried, tied up, curly, brushed out or heat-styled. The cut has to make sense on an ordinary Tuesday, not only in the finishing photograph.
“What if I have to keep coming back?”
We explain root contrast, fading, toning and grow-out before you decide. A softer placement near your natural base can feel fresh without creating a monthly appointment.
“What if the photo I love does not suit me?”
We separate the idea from the picture: is it the face frame, the movement, the brightness or the mood? Then we adapt that part to your face, complexion, density and texture.
Start with a conversation, not a decision
“I don’t know exactly what I want” is enough.
Bring the photographs. Bring the doubts. Bring the memory of the haircut you hated ten years ago. We turn that information into a few sensible routes—small, noticeable or bold.
What you want to feel
Lighter, softer, sharper, richer, easier—or simply less like the hair you have had for years.
What you refuse to lose
Length, curl, fullness, natural darkness, the ability to tie it up, or ten quiet minutes in the morning.
What your hair can support
Natural depth, density, porosity, shrinkage and every colour or chemical service already on the hair.
What the change asks of you
Home styling, colour-safe care, root visits, toning, grow-out and how often you honestly want to return.
How different do you want to feel?
Change has more than one volume.
You do not have to choose between “just a trim” and becoming unrecognisable. The safest first decision is the size of the change.

A little different
Keep the length. Change the shape.
A cleaner perimeter, selective layers or face-framing can bring movement without making you feel as though all your hair has gone.
- Works well when
- Long or shoulder-length hair that feels heavy, flat or grown out.
- What we would explain
- On wavy or curly hair, we allow for spring and shrinkage before deciding the shortest piece.

Clearly changed
Bring light or richness into the hair.
Caramel ribbons, dimensional brunette, a richer chocolate or a soft face frame can change how the hair catches light without replacing your natural identity.
- Works well when
- Dark hair that feels solid, dull or too one-dimensional.
- What we would explain
- The amount of lift, warmth and upkeep depends on your natural base and everything already underneath it.

Ready for a real shift
Change the length, colour or texture.
A shorter cut, visible burgundy, stronger lightening, curls or smoothing can feel like a new chapter—when the hair condition and maintenance plan agree.
- Works well when
- Someone who wants to be seen differently, not just neater.
- What we would explain
- A bold result may need stages. We would rather give you a safe route than promise the whole reference in one sitting.
Advice based on the situation
What we might discuss when you say…
These are not prescriptions. They show how the same wish changes once we know the hair beneath it.
You want movement, but you are protective of your length.
Your perimeter, density and where the hair becomes heavy.
Face-framing and controlled layers—not layers everywhere. Fine ends may need less layering; thick hair may need weight removed in very specific places.
You want caramel, but your dark hair has gone brassy before.
Natural depth, home colour, old highlights and how light the reference really is.
Toffee, neutral caramel or deeper ribbons may give visible dimension with less lift. Warmth is managed; it cannot simply be erased from dark hair.
You want colour that does not wash out your complexion.
Undertone, surface tone, natural contrast, brows and the depth around your face.
Golden skin may come alive beside honey, toffee or chestnut. Olive skin often needs warmth and ash kept in balance. Cool or rosy skin may suit mocha, burgundy or plum. We compare beside your face rather than assigning a shade from a label.
You want fuller-looking hair, not simply shorter hair.
Strand thickness, density through the ends and the amount of scalp or parting visibility.
A stronger outline, restrained layers and carefully placed brightness can preserve visual fullness. Excess thinning may do the opposite.
You have waves or curls and fear the triangle—or the surprise shrinkage.
Where the wave begins, how curls group, how much the hair expands and whether you wear it natural and stretched.
The shape and shortest face frame are planned for both states. Colour can follow visible curl ribbons instead of disappearing inside the density.
You want easier hair, but you are unsure about smoothing.
Frizz, curl pattern, damage, daily styling and whether you want control or complete straightness.
The answer may be a better cut, a repair plan, styling help, keratin, botox or a stronger straightening service. We compare the finish and commitment before recommending one.
The honest part
Some answers should slow the decision down.
Confidence is not promising that every photograph can become your hair in one visit. It is explaining the trade-off clearly enough for you to choose.
A reference is not a guarantee
Lighting, filters, extensions and professional styling can make a colour or cut look different from daily life. We tell you which part of the photo is realistic for your starting point.
Complexion is more than fair, wheatish or dusky
Indian skin can be warm, cool, olive or neutral at every depth. We look at undertone and contrast; we do not choose hair colour from a fairness scale.
The strongest service is not always the best answer
If your goal is less frizz or easier mornings, permanent straightening may be more commitment than you need. If the hair is fragile, any chemical change may need to wait.
Maintenance changes the recommendation
A beautiful shade that needs six-week root work is the wrong shade for someone who wants to visit twice a year. Your real routine belongs in the decision.

The Salon Nayana hair team
We listen before we pick up the scissors.
Our Brigade Road team works with Indian hair across fine, dense, straight, wavy, curly, colour-treated and chemically treated starting points. The recommendation begins with the person—not the service we want to sell.

No long service menu here. The final estimate depends on the plan, length, density and product required.
Before the conversation
Send us four useful things.
- 01Your hair now
One recent photograph in daylight, without a filter.
- 02Two or three references
Tell us whether it is the cut, colour, movement or finish you like.
- 03Your full hair history
Home colour, bleach, straightening, keratin, botox, henna and anything else still on the hair.
- 04The thing you do not want
Too short, too warm, too flat, too damaged, too expensive to maintain—say it plainly.
Before you visit
Questions you are allowed to ask before saying yes.
Do I need to know the name of the cut or colour?
No. Tell us what feels wrong now, what you want to feel different and what you are afraid of. That is enough to begin.
Is the consultation really free?
Yes. The hair consultation is free, and you do not have to book a paid service during the conversation.
Can you tell me what will suit my complexion?
Yes, with context. We consider undertone and contrast together with your natural hair depth, brows, eyes, texture, colour history and preferred maintenance.
Can I send reference photos first?
Yes. Send one clear current photo in daylight and two or three references. Tell us what you like in each one—the cut, colour, movement or overall feeling.
Will you tell me if my reference is unrealistic?
Yes. We explain what is achievable, whether it needs stages and what the hair may safely support. If we do not think it is the right change, we will say so.
How will I know the price?
After we understand the service, hair length, density, history and product needs, we explain the estimate before you choose. You can also browse the pricing guides below.
